What is Normal And What is Not?

In terms of Mental Health, what is normal? According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), at least 1 of 5 Americans have a mental condition. Therefore, it is highly likely that some of your family, friends, and coworkers—if not you—are dealing with mental health problems.

At some point in life, everyone has wondered if they were acting or thinking normally, or they have questioned their judgment. When we think about what's normal, we often try to determine whether we think and act the same as or at least similar to the way most other people think and act.

People who are “abnormal" do not conform to what society and medical science considers to be normal. It is beneficial to try to determine what is normal in order to evaluate if there is a potential problem. But where should the line be drawn?

Not all problems are psychological. Personal preferences, immaturity, or a lack of knowledge about normalcy can all be contributed to a person's upbringing.

Crazy means that you are not Normal to the People that are Calling You Crazy.

So, are you abnormal or are you being your unique self? Could people regard you as insane or abnormal because they don't understand why you do certain things? Or do you have a genuine mental illness?

Spending time getting to know and understand yourself is the greatest approach to find out. And if you can't figure things out on your own, seeking help from professionals is the best course of action.

For some reason, a lot of people are against going to therapy.
